It doesn’t  look good but, Carrig na bhfear will probably go on to contest the league final this year in hurling. It was a match we were probably never going to win.

But I want to thank the players who gave all the effort they could, in spite of the superior size age and talent of the opposition. R. Mehigan ran his legs of in the second half, leading by example as captains should. Well done Ruairí!  Cillian Hayes played out of his normal position due to a last minute reshuffle. He came in to his own in the second half taking on the opposition from half back with long runs and unlucky not to convert on three or four occasions.

Players turned up to play carrying injury and illness and even the footballers who normally do not turn out for hurling turned up to show a united team front for their team mates and club so as to avoid fines and sanctions for non fulfilment of fixtures. Thank you for that….Good luck to the boys doing Junior cert!!!!

During this period we will have “non contact”  skills football training to prepare for the rest of the season for the whole team.

The older members are to train hurling with the minors  “non contact” skills hurling training.
