Shamrocks 6-10, Kiltha Óg 1-3
Shamrocks kept their good run going in the football league with this comprehensive win over Kiltha Óg on Wednesday evening at Shanbally, when conditions were perfect for football. Kiltha Óg, a football combination of Castlemartyr and Dungourney, were no match for a Shamrocks team who were on top from the get go. It must be said that this was Kiltha Ógs second team but nevertheless, Shamrocks went about their business in an efficient manner, and many players got on the scorsheet. Shamrocks led at halftime by 3-7 to 1-2, Dylan O’Flaherty with a first half hatrick. The second half was more of the same really and Ronan Connolly, Sam Geary, Seán Andrews, Billy Hughes, Harry Andrews (1-4 from play off the bench) and Seán Browne added more scores, along with Andrew Egan from the first half.
So overall, a job well done as the players get ready for the big test in the championship on Friday of next week – Clondrohid at home at 7.30pm. Clondrohid will be miles better no doubt. The lads hope to train next Wednesday at 6.30pm and its important that everyone is present. It was also great to see 17 players togged out tonight.
