Shamrocks travelled to Ovens on Saturday morning to take place in the final U8 football blitz of the year, an event hosted by Eire Óg. Shamrocks travelled with 16 players, their biggest turnout this year so far which was fantastic. As a result, they fielded 2 teams and each team played 3 games each with plenty of fun and participation. Out of the 6 games played, Shamrocks won 5 which was pleasing. All the players were brilliant on the morning.
Once again the coaches would like to thank the parens,s grandparents, siblings and supporters who have travelled throughout the division and beyond this year. Also, the club would like to thank Seamus O’Flynn and Shane O’Donovan who have entered, organised and coached the team to all these blitzes, all year long. Our thanks to Paul O’Sullivan and John Herlihy who helped out on the morning. There is some great work going on in the club at these young age groups.
Afterwards, Cork dual player Damien Cahalane met with all the teams including the Shamrocks ones where he posed for photographs etc. All players got medals as well. This was the last u8 blitz of the year.
Training continues on Monday evening at 6.30pm.
