Clondrohid 4-9, Shamrocks 1-4
We travelled the long journey to Canovee last evening to play Clondrohid in the semi final of the minor football championship. It was a journey just too far for this team as we came up against an excellent Clondrohid outfit who were superior in every position in the pitch.
We found ourselves still in touching distance coming up to half time but two very costly errors in the last two minutes of the half led to two Clondrohid goals to leave the score line 2-03 to 0-02.
We regrouped and made a few positional changes but still couldn’t breakdown the Clondrohid defence. Clondrohid kicked over some more points from play and then got another two goals inside two minutes to leave the game over as a contest. We scored 1-02 in the second half but lost out in the end to a very talented Clondrohid team. It’s now back to the hurling and training and matches are continuing to the build up of our minor hurling championship semi final versus Cobh on Sunday 31st August.
