Shamrocks 1-15, Valley Rovers 1-10
Shamrocks and Valley Rovers played out a very open and competitive league game on Saturday afternoon last in Shanbally before Shamrocks did just enough to get the league points.
Valleys gave Shamrocks plenty of it throughout the game but all the Shamrocks players played well on the day and scored in bursts to set up the win. Michael O’Neill scored the second half goal and a few points driving forward while super sub Bernard Hickey also slotted over a point from play, amongst other incidents!
Jack Wilson in goal did very well and even had time to nonchalantly grab the ball off the goal line after it had struck the post and pass it off to Stephen Hurley as if it was a training session. Calmness personified.
The 2 league points will go a long way towards Shamrocks chances of qualifying for a playoff place in the league. One league game to go against Carrigaline.
