U12 HL V Crosshaven – 3/5

Shamrocks 4-4, Crosshaven 4-3

Shamrocks and Crosshaven played out a keenly contested and tight game in Shanbally on Saturday afternoon before Shamrocks just about held on to register the league points.

Conditions were very wet and slippy; however, this didnt stop the two teams from trying their heart out in the conditions. Some 1st half Shamrocks goals from Harry Andrews, Fionn Herlihy and Seán Andrews saw Shamrocks open up a 7 point lead at halftime.

The second half saw Crosshaven come back more into proceedings and the nearly snatched a draw at the end. Conor Hourihan in the Shamrocks goal was very neat and tidy throughout while the backs were put under pressure towards the end and coped well. Overall, a satisfactory start to the hurling league.  Shamrocks had a very young team out as numbers are very tight and we’re relying on everyone to be available for all matches and training. The lads have a busy month ahead of them under the supervision of John Herlihy, Aidan O’Leary and Brian Sweeney. The players/parents have a copy of the schedule.

Panel on duty – C. Hourihan, M. Sisk, D. Howard,  A. McSweeney, F. Herlihy, S. Andrews, C. O’Flaherty, H. Andrews, R. Van Pelt, A. Maye, M. Foy, E. O’Flynn.
