JAHL V Courcey Rovers – 19/5

Courcey Rovers 1-15, Shamrocks 1-10

This game was played on an excellent pitch with the home side keen to exert their authority early on. Unfortunately Shamrocks were slow to get into their strike, but some brave defending led by Senan Andrewsat fullback saw the teams go into the halftime break with Courceys leading 0-8 to 0-5.

Some of the Shamrock players moved up a gear the second half and being more competitive especially in the forwardline, the home side were under more pressure. With four minutes remaining Shamrocks were one point behind. A free to level the game did not generate the equaliser. Courceys responded and a long ball down the field was smartly finished to the net.

Perhaps this game should have been won, despite the team being short a few key players.
However, the graph is going in the right direction and with a little more dedication and sharpness our day will come.
Joe Shanahan is returning to form and team Captain Senan Collins led by example. The Minor pair of Sean Kidney and Darragh Scriven are progressing well.
