Shamrocks 0-11, Ballygarvan 0-9
In a game that started in brightness sunshine and ended in darkness and rain, Shamrocks just about held on against Ballygarvan on Wednesday night in Ballygarvan to register the league points.
Shamrocks played with the wind and hill advantage in the first half and started brightly and led by 0-6 to 0-3 at HT, Barry Mulqueen, Michael Prout and Joseph Shanahan among the scorers.
Ballygarvan came right back into it in the second half and drew level 0-7 apiece with 15 minutes left. But Shamrocks regrouped and further points from Shanahan and sub Eoin O’Mahony stretched Shamrocks lead to 0-11 to 0-8 with time almost up. Then Ballygarvan were awarded a penalty to level the game but it went over the bar and the game ended shortly after.
