Jack Barrett Memorial Friendship Trophy – 30/5

Shamrocks 2-14, Kinsale 1-7

Kinsale visited Shanbally to play for the Jack Barrett Memorial Friendship Trophy, on Friday last. It was a magnificent May evening and Shamrocks hurled well in the opening half recording two splendid goals from Darragh O’Sullivan. Kinsale were quite competitive but Shamrocks hurling prowess stood them well and many of the scores were excellent. At the break Shamrocks led 2-10 to 0-4.

Kinsale took the game to Shamrocks in the second half but our backs were not found wanting and weathered many a storm. Centre back Brian Sweeney excelled with fullback Senan Andrews in mighty form too.
This was the teams last competitive game before their championship outing next Friday, June 6th, in Carrigaline versus Tracton. With this form and some final preparations, the team will be ready for the fray.
