Shamrocks 2-9, Whitescross 3-6
A very entertaining game of football ended in a deserved draw for both teams in Whitescross last Tuesday evening.
Shamrocks scored 1-2 in the last 7 minutes to salvage a draw that their efforts deserved. Whitescross looked set for the victory but points from Harry and Sean Andrews and the all important goal from Cian O’Flaherty with 2 minutes to go meant the sides finished level.
Shamrocks played up the hill in the first half and were the better team. Sean Andrews and Cian O’Flaherty punished the Whitescross defence with frees and Harry Andrews scored a goal. Whitescross missed a few goal chances at the other end. HT 1-4 to 1-2 to Shamrocks.
Whitescross came storming into the game from the start of the second half and took over and started to run through the Shamrocks defence. They went ahead 3-6 to 1-7 but Shamrocks never gave up and scored those late points to get the draw. Hurling training next Tuesday in Rochestown College ball alley at 6pm.
