At the recent meeting of the Clubs Executive Committee, the officers and members present extended a sincere vote of sympathy to John Dineen on the death of his mother, Margaret, R.I.P. We were all very saddened on hearing the news.
Of course John Dineen will always be regarded as one of the Club’s greatest dual players. He was part of some great Shamrock Under age and adult teams. He gave long service to Carrigdhoun in Senior Hurling & Football. John won All Ireland Minor and Junior Hurling medals with Cork. He also played Junior Football with Cork. He continued to play well beyond retirement age and always wore the Shamrock jersey with great pride.
