Shamrocks 3-6, Brian Dillons 1-3
Shamrocks Minor Footballers got their second win of the season after a hard fought win over Brian Dillons on Saturday afternoon last.
Shamrocks played up the hill and against the wind in the first half and despite being slow to start, they scrapped their way to a 1-1 to 0-3 HT lead courtesy of a David Andrews point and an OG from one of the Dillons players.
The second half saw some changes and Shamrocks drove on down the hill. The back were outstanding throughout and they fed the players up front plenty of possession to do the damage. Shamrocks battled to a 9 point advantage at the final whistle, 3-6 to 1-3.
Among the scorers were Brian Coffan with 1-1, the goal from a penalty, Darragh Scriven with another goal and Aonghus Boland, who was making his return from a spell out, who bagged 0-3 late on to seal the win with some clever play at corner forward.
Training continues on Tuesday at 5pm at the pitch.
