Lisgoold 1-16, Shamrocks 2-9
Shamrocks played Lisgoold on Sunday afternoon in the quarterfinal of the u/16 hurling league. Both teams settled very quickly but it was Lisgoold first on to the scoreboard. The first half was very intense with both sides playing some fantastic hurling and sharing the lead numerous times to finish 1-07 apiece at the interval.
The second half began with the same tempo and intensity and ten minutes into the half it was still a draw at 1-09 each but Lisgoold began to dominate and took a seven point lead before Shamrocks got back into the game and reduce the deficit to four points. Shamrocks were now dominating play but simply ran out of time and Lisgoold ran out winners on a score line of 1-16 to 2-09.
