U12 HL V Grenagh – 30/9

Shamrocks 8-7, Grenagh 1-3

Shamrocks finished up their u12 league season with a comprehensive win over a young Grenagh side at a wet Shanbally on Monday evening. Despite the County Senior Hurlers defeat at the weekend, the show goes on at local level and it was great to see the Shamrocks lads play with a confidence that has been soaring since the football run.

The management at the start of the year set out 2 main hurling targets – one was to improve each player and secondly for the team to win a league match. Its safe to say that both were achieved, ableit the first win at the seasons end but it doesnt matter.

The lads can feel very happy with their steep progress this year and can reflect back and say that a trophy was garnished ag deireadh an lae. On this particular occasion, Shamrocks had scorers in Harry and Seán Andrews, Evan Seymour, Dylan O’Flaherty and Luke O’Driscoll. The team was rejigged at halftime to give the corner backs and forwards some time out around the middle where most of the action was and they all got on the ball.

Team: C. O’Flaherty, M. Sisk, F. Herlihy, J. Sisk, S. Browne, E. Seymour, S. Andrews, H. Andrews, D. O’Flaherty, S. Donegana, L. O’Driscoll and R. Van Pelt.
