Shamrocks entered 2 teams into the Passage West Ladies Football Blitz 2013 last Saturday 7th September. Although neither of the two teams had full panels, the girls that played, played their hearts out and gave it their all in all of their games.
The Under 10’s played against Dr. Crokes, Glanmire and Carrigaline and under the guidance of Seamus O’Flynn and Alan Aherne showed the other them how the game was played.
The Under 8’s were down to play 4 games but unfortunately the rain came and their last game against Fermoy Seals was called off but not before they played against Eire Og, Carrigaline and Youghal. Alan Geary and Bernard Hickey had a difficult job with a panel of 7 for the first 2 games but had the added bonus of 5 year old Lillie Hickey for the Youghal game who was certainly didn’t shy away from the task at hand.
Great day was had by all and the girls gain valuable experience.
