The Club’s biennial Golf Classic took place on the Monkstown course on Monday May 20th.
The course was in great shape and the prevailing weather helped in no small way in making it a splendid day for all the participants. Some fine scores were recorded and the programme was completed on schedule, much to the satisfaction of the organising committee.
The prizewinning teams were as follows-
1st. John Joe Shanahan, Ger O’Halloran and Pat O’Sullivan (Ballingeary).
2nd. Fergus O’Neill, Tom Scannell and Oliver Webb representing Cork Builders Providers Ltd.
3rd. The three Collins brothers, Fergal, Daragh and Seanán.
Club Vice-Chairman, Mr. Kieran Lynam, spoke on behalf of the Club. He expressed sincere thanks to all the participants for their goodwill and support. Thanks was extended too, to the sponsors and the many people who donated prizes.
Special thanks was extended to the Golf organising Group headed up by Alan Geary along with Daragh Collins, Mark Hickey, John Twomey (Shanbally) and that great veteran Shamrock and Club Vice-President Neally O’Mahony.
