Dripsey 4-6, Shamrocks 4-11
We played our first football match of 2013 on Sunday morning away to Dripsey.
The lads settled very fast and played some fine passing football to take a comfortable lead during the first half. It was great to watch the lads play with a very positive attitude and go in at the break on a score line of 3-09 to1-01.
The second half began with Dripsey scoring 1-03 before Shamrocks got on the scoreboard with two points from play, Dripsey were coming on stronger at this stage (as some of the lads were beginning to tire as they had played a very hard minor football match against Cobh the previous day) to score another 1-02 but Shamrocks launched a final attack to score a goal and in the dying minutes. Dripsey got two more goals. However, Shamrocks had done enough to run out winners on a scoreline of 4-11 to 4-06.
Team was Cormac Scriven, Sean Kidney, Shane Kelleher, Nathan Hayes, Coby O’ Grady, Tom Murphy, Daragh Scriven, David Andrews, Killian Murphy, Mark Hitchmough, Andrew O’ Grady and Brendan Crowley. Subs were Christopher Hayes, Joseph O’Keeffe and Eric Desmond.
