U10 Hurling – 18/9

The u10 hurlers played Carrigaline in a hurling challenge on Tuesday evening in Shanbally.

While the lads were beaten by what was esentially Carrigalines 1st team, all 10 year olds, the idea was to provide the Shamrocks lads with more competitive action against different opposition. Also, the turnout on the night was good – 18 players.

The lads are learning all the time; we would encourage the parents to get the lads to practice hurling at home – this is where the real stickwork will be learned.

Our thanks to Carrigaline for coming down; Some of the Shamrocks players on duty included Robert Van Pelt, Mark Sick, Fionn Herlihy, Michael Foy, Declan Carroll, Cian O’Flaherty, Fionn Meighan, Seán Andrews, Harry Andrews, Adam McGinty, Eoin O’Flynn, Adam Maye, Adam McSweeney, Nathan O’Sullivan and Shane Donegana.

It is hoped to play Carrigaline next Wednesday in an u9 football challenge where we have more players on the age. Unfortunately, we only have three 10 year olds.
