Shamrocks Hurling & Football Multi-Sports Camp – 16/9

Shamrocks Underage & Ladies Football Club held their second successive Multisports Camp on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of September.

It was a very successful weekend which saw over a 100 children; both boys and girls participate. The children had a very enjoyable weekend experiencing a range of sports such as Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rounders, Orienteering  and Olympic Handball. The highlight of the camp was the visit of Seán Óg O hAilpín on Sunday who had a cúpla focail of advice for all the young and upcoming Shamrock players.

The running of the camp would not have been possible without the fantastic help and commitment of all the coaches involved over the weekend. We must not forget the Ladies who helped in the kitchen and with the registration over the two days. We would also like to thank those who helped out with the BBQ and food. It was greatly appreciated.

Finally, I hope that all the children who attended the Camp over the weekend come join our club when it starts the Academy on Saturday 30th of September. We will welcome all boys & girls to our club and all parents who would like to get involved in coaching and the continuous development of Shamrocks Hurling & Football Club.

My thanks to Susan O’Mahony who sent in the report and who also managed to leave her own name out of the proceedings. Without her drive and determination this fantastic weekend for the club would not have taken place!
