Lá breá tirim a bhí againn, and Mrs. Jackie Keane (wife of Stephen our dual purpose full forward) arrived into the Kitchen this morning with a large basket of freshly cooked scones. Paddy Andrews, a man with a delicate palate, said these scones were th finest he ever tasted. They didn’t last long.
The boys and girls went through the paces and drills with enthusiasm and determination. Head Coach David Nolan introduced a number of new initiatives that were well received by all participants.
Rev. Fr. Pat O’Donovan C.C. made a courtesy call and after meeting the various Coaches and their charges, expressed his wide admiration for this very worthwhile undertaking. He acknowledged that he didn’t know a whole lot about Hurling, but he added that in matters of agriculture he would be better versed. He added that our Mower needed to be adjusted and the blades sharpened He was first into the Kitchen and savoured the delicious scones before the troops arrived.
Only one day to go, tempus fugit – time flies.
