JAFL V Kinsale – 17/6

Shamrocks 0-20, Kinsale 0-7

Even though the numbers were tight at Pairc Tadgh O’h-Ainnlaoi on Sunday afternoon, the players on duty achieved one of the best point scoring feats in years. Played in sunshine, the game was a very sporting one, with Shamrocks having their hand on the control stick throughout. Some excellent scores came from Joe Shanahan, Canice Caffrey, Philp Brady, Stephen Downey, Simon McGarry, Michael Prout and Oin O’Mahony.

At the break Shamrocks led 0-7 to 0-5.  Another feature of this game was some of the dead ball kicking by full back Stephen O’Reilly. There is no doubt, but the lads on duty were sending out a very clear message to the absentees that places will be hard to come by with the next round of the championship looming. Team Manager Pat McCarthy had a broad smile on his face, something we haven’t seen for a while.
