Shamrocks 4-0, Whitechurch 11-17
Not much to say really. Shamrocks were absolutely annihilated by a vastly superior Whitechurch side in Shanbally on Saturday afternoon last. There was definately a quirk in the grading system with Whitechurch playing in the same grade as Shamrocks here. They are way too good for this grade and indeed, wouldnt look out of place 2 grades above.
The game was effectively over after 5 minutes with Whitechurch launching attack after attack from the throw in and leading 2-3 to no score.
All Shamrocks could do was battle to the end in very tough circumstances and they were rewarded with 4 goals, one in the first half from Shane Flavin and 3 late goals from Flavin again, David Fox and Seán Andrews. It quite hard to make out how this league will pan out as Shamrocks won their first game handy but suffered this 38 point defeat here. What is known is that the next game, an away game against Cill na Martra on Saturday March 10th at 3.30pm will be very tough as well. Training this Wednesday at 4.30pm.
