MFL V Nemo Rangers – 19/2

Shamrocks 2-11, Nemo Rangers (3) 1-2

A very satisfactory performance all round was the verdict of  ‘stand-in Manager’ Kieran Lynam, after Shamrocks proved too accomplished for their City visitors in Division 3 of the Minor Football league, played in Shanbally on Sunday last.
Team Captain Tony O’Mahony led the charge with a commanding performance at centre back and his colleagues both big and small responded in kind. Shamrocks led at half-time 2-2 to 1-1 having played with the hill.
Some words of advice from Kieran and his assistant Alan Geary at half-time saw the team move up a gear in the second half and went on to record a very merited win.
Team;  Dave Raleigh (goal), Conor Walters, James Raleigh (0-2), Daniel O’Reilly, Sean Kidney, Tony O’Mahony (0-2), Darragh Scriven, Sean O’Brien, Rory Horgan, Angus Boland (0-1), Roy Twomey (0-5), Brian Coffan (1-1), Coby O’Grady (1-0), Luke Garvan and Nathan Hayes (great grandson of the ledgendary Dave Dunne).

Special advisers on the day – Kevin O’Mahony, John Hanley, John Twomey, Liam Shanahan, Black Sid and Hing Pong Lee, Chinese Vice-president visiting with Christy Cooney.
