Clondrohid 2-7, Shamrocks 1-4
We made the long journey west last Sunday to play the home team in the minor football league. The game started brightly for a young Shamrocks team and we soon found ourselves leading after 20 minutes on a scoreline of 1-01 to 0-02. A torrential downpour for the remainder of the first half left both teams struggling to play any football whatsoever. We regrouped at half time and tried to dry off as best we could so we could try and get back playing again in the second half.
A more stronger and bigger Cill Na Martra team coped better with the elements and when the heavens opened again half
way through the second half, both teams just waited for the final whistle to blow. Cill Na Martra ran out winners by 6 points.
