Club Chiaráin 2023

Club Chiaráin 2023 – July 3rd to July 7th

Day 1

The Annual Club Chiaran Camp ignited into full gear on Monday morning with 90 girls and boys splendidly attired in their 2023 shirts keen to put in a stirring and fruitful week.
Groundsman Mr. Pat O’Neill had the pitches in pristine order and there was a great willingness among all the participants and Coaches to get into action promptly.
It was a great day, judging by the reaction of all as the final whistle blew and all are keen to be back the rest of the week here the forecast looks largely favourable.
The Club was delighted to greet and welcome Mrs. Mary Hegarty and her daughter Susan, who were early callers. Camp Coordinator Deirdre Twomey presented them with replica camp shirts.

Day 2
The weather was kind and this was especially beneficial for Photographer Siobhan Russel who made her annual visit. Plenty of smiles all round as all the participants were assembled, to be recorded for for posterity, and an appearance on our favourite local newspaper The Carrigdhoun Weekly,- Thanks Siobhan
It was over to football and the young ladies who recently were part of the Under 13 side which won the Mid Cork Championship, didn’t make life easy for the lads with their speed, stamina, and silky skills ☘️☘️☘️☘️

Day 3

CLUB CHIARAN – DAY 3 – THE TEMPO IS RAISED

Wednesday, the middle day of the week, saw enthusiasm and zeal at its best with participants showing off their skills and attributes as they went through the various drills under the watchful eyes of their dedicated Coaches.   We say a special thanks to all the Coaches who give their time and experience to benefit all the youngsters and hopefully the stars of the future.

Day 4

The weather warnings were  a plenty, but our enthusiastic youngsters were up for the challenge and made the best of a nasty day before rain driven by a southern gale saw them run for shelter after about and hour and a half of fun and games.  However, before an early cessation Head Coach Mr. John Herlihy had completed the Long Puck competitions.

The winners were as follows:  GIRLS – 1.   Lexie O’Riordan, 2.  Ellie Tagg, 3  Aoibheann Behan,   BOYS – 1  Michael Dorney, 2  Sam Jordan, 3  James Dorney.
