Saturday April 20th was a big day for David Herlihy and his family as he captained Cork West U17 hurlers in Shanbally against Limerick.
The pitch was looking great in the sunshine. Cork eventually lost the game 1-15 to 1-11 but David played very well in goal, keeping a clean sheet in the first half and pulling off a wonderful save at one point that “i got a touch to it alright” was deflected onto the crossbar and was eventually cleared to safety. David was replaced at HT for the other keeper to get gametime, which is how the Cork teams operate at his level.
Well done David, mighty stuff. Thanks to all who helped out on what was a beautiful afternon for outdoor activity, both teams and supporters were fed and watered from our kitchen (Dee & Ann) before they left.
