Shamrocks GAA Appointment of Chairperson update and announcement.
Due to the ‘Lockdown’ our recent AGM and the appointment of our Executive was an online affair, which was completed as best we could. All Officers were returned with no alternatives put forward. The exception was Chairperson, and everyone was informed that the search would go on with encouragement to our members to assist in the search. Eventually, on a Nomination from Seán O Tuama and Seconded by Liam O Seanacháin, Pat McCarthy was proposed, having accepted the Nomination. The Executive was informed and canvassed by email, and there was overwhelming and welcoming support for Pat’s election. Pat is beginning another term of Office having been Chairperson from 2011 to 2020. Ratification by the Executive is acceptable under the Present Covid circumstances, in all GAA Clubs up and down the country.
We would like to welcome Pat back as Chairperson, congratulate and commend him on his standing up to accept this vital role within the Club, a role that no other Member either volunteered for or was proposed. We exhort all members of Shamrocks GAA to give Pat complete support as we endeavour to take the Club through these very challenging times.
