Diarmuid Ó Murchú’s 7-9, Raonaithe na nGael 3-11

 

A great second half was the main reason why Ó Murchús won this Shield semi final on Friday night in Whitescross, with the Ó Murchús ability to get goals proving decisive. Having played with a very strong wind and hill advantage in the first half, Ó Murchú’s led by 4-4 to 2-8 at the break. RnG finished te half on the up scoring 1-2 just before the break to pull within 2 points.

 

Turning to face the elements, Ó Murchús needed a big second half and they got stuck in early on. Some players stepped right up to the plate and 3 goals were scored in a 10 minute period to open up a 13 point gap. The players controlled matters to the end to qualify for the final.
