Shamrocks 2-12, Tracton 2-1
Shamrocks and Tracton battled it out in Shanbally in the quarter final on Friday night. Shamrocks eventually won by 11 points but itb was close all through the game until the very end when a few Shamrocks goals sealed the win.
Shamrocks played against the strong wind in the first half and scored 2 early points. Tracton responded with a goal at the other end. Shamrocks were finding it hard to convert possession into scores but did score 3 quick points in the lead up to HT to lead 0-6 to 1-1.
Again, Shamrocks found the scoring rate slow with the wind. After moving ahead courtesy of 2 further points early on, Tracton scored another goal and there was only a point in it with 15 minutes left. Shamrocks didnt panic and scored another 2 points and then came the all important goal 5 minutes from time to give them the cushion to see out the game. Lee Gaels are up next.
