U14 HL V Whitescross – 4/6

Whitescross 3-9, Shamrocks 2-3

Shamrocks and Whitescross played out an enjoyable game on Tuesday evening in Shanbally.

The teams were evenly matched for most of the game but Whitescross finished much the stronger to take the win. Whitescross played with the wind in the first half and registyered their first few scores, despite some great saves in the Shamrocks goal from Sam Foy and heroic defending from the full back line.

Into the second half, Whitescross were ahead but an Eoin O’Flynn goal for Shamrocks actually put them ahead for the first time. However, Whitescross scrambled home a goal shortly afterwards and had all the momentum into the last 15 minutes, where they finished with 2-4 without reply to win comfortably enough at the end.
