Shamrocks 8-5, Crosshaven 6-8
We played our first hurling game of the season at U14 level in Crosshaven on Tuesday evening. Both teams started brightly and it was Crosshaven who got the early scores on the board with some fine long distance frees. We settled after a while and soon scored 1-03 without reply. Crosshaven got some late scores approaching half time to leave them in a very strong position at the break. They lead on a score line of 4-06 to 2-03.
Shamrocks started the second half on the front foot and kept battling away to slowly reduce the deficit. We hit a purple patch with 15 minutes to go and camped in the Crosshaven half. With 5 minutes left the scores were level. A final push resulted in us scoring 1-01 to finish the game on a high. Final score. Shamrocks 8-05 Crosshaven 6-08.
