Shamrocks 3-7, Tracton 0-8
The U12 footballers opened the season with a win over the visitors Tracton in Shanbally on Monday evening. This was a tough, close fought encounter with the obvious difference being the ability of the Shamrocks forwards to score goals. Shamrocks led 1-4 to 0-3 at HT. The Shamrocks backs and goalkeeper were outstanding especially in the second half when Tracton were all out for a goal but the wall couldn’t be breached. Shamrocks held on for a deserved win.
