JAHL V Ballymartle – 19/7

Ballymartle 3-17, Shamrocks 0-9

The Shamrock side on duty was put to the sword by a polished and articulated Ballymartle team and unfortunately our side were playing catch-up over the hour.  Despite the best efforts of a few, victory was never in doubt. Ballymartle led 1 – 10 to 0 – 1 at the break.

The second half saw the visitors push on to accumulate a commanding lead.
This was Shamrock’s first hurling outing in three weeks, so despite the defeat the match practice will be of some benefit as we get ready for championship next weekend.

It was good to see Johnny Tuohy back after a ten week exile in the Scottish Highlands.
He showed great form, as did Chris O’Neill and David Hayes with youngster Sean Kidney showing up well yet again.  Coby O’ Grady and Ronan Murphy put in fine contributions too.
