Ballygarvan 5-8, Shamrocks 2-9
Shamrocks played Ballygarvan in Shanbally on Wednesday evening in very wet conditions. In the first half both teams played some great hurling with Shamrocks first on the score board and were leading by four points to three when Shamrocks got a goal only for Ballygarvan to cancel that out immediatly. Shamrocks then got two more points but a mix up in our defence let Ballygarvan in for a second goal just before halftime to make it 1-06 to 2-03.The second half began with Ballygarvan getting another goal and three points before the lads got on the score board but at this stage Ballygarvan were well on top and we could not get back in to the game and even though the lads played their hearts out and never gave up we could only manage 1-03 and Ballygarvan scored 3-06 from play in the second half to run out 7 point winners on the night.
