Shamrocks were very short of players for this game due to some lads being on holidays, so with only eleven players we played Whitescross in a very entertaining game of hurling and even though the lads had not played any hurling matches for three months you could see from the throw in that they were eager; they took an early lead with some great point scoring and two quick goals to settle down and were in control all through the game.
Whitescross did score two goals and five points but Shamrocks were the stronger team on the night and ran out comfortable winners. There was some great individual performances and it was a pleasure to watch both teams play some very entertaining hurling. The team was C. Scriven, N. Hayes, D. O’Sullivan, M. Hitchmough, E. Horgan, A. O’Grady, D. Andrews, C. Hayes, J. O’ Keeffe, S. Flavin and K. Murphy
