We played Carrig na bhFear on Wednesday evening in the football championship; there was end to end action but it was Carrig na bhFear who settled first and took a four point lead before we got on the scoreboard with two points from David O’ Sullivan.
Carrig na bhFear playing with a strong breeze increased the lead further with a goal and three points to go in at the break on a score line of 0-02 to 1-07.
The second half started briskly and Carrig na bhFear got a goal immediatly from the throw in but the lads battled for everything and scored 2-02 to peg it back to within four points and were on top at this stage but could not keep it going and Carrig na bhFear came back with 2-01, Shamrocks drove on to score 1-03 from play but could not close the gap and Carrig na bhFear got a furthur two points to run out winners on a score line of 3-08 to 4-10.
