Lisgoold 1-2, Shamrocks 5-13
Shamrocks made their second away journey a winning one with a comfortable win over Lisgoold in Lisgoold on a wet Saturday afternoon. This game was the opposite of the game on St Patricks Day for Shamrocks – they were always in control, even from the first whistle and indeed could even have won by more in the end such was the dominance. However, credit to an extremely young home team – they battled all the way with only one under 15 player available on the day and they certainly deserved their beauty of a goal just before the end.
On the Shamrocks score sheet featured Oisin Boland, Alex O’Sullivan, Coby O’Grady (up from the back!), Darragh Scriven, David Andrews, Andrew O’Grady with Brian Coffan making his seasonal debut and pulling the strings at midfield. Despite being under pressure due to various circumstances pre match, we managed to get the required numbers out on the day. And to both the players and their parents we are particularly grateful, especially for a 2nd game in 3 days on a wet afternoon in East Cork. They travelled 100 miles since St Patricks day morning, registering 2 wins. From the management – Thank you! Players on duty – David Raleigh, Shane Kelleher, Sean Kidney, Coby O’Grady, Joe O’Brien, Mark Hitchmough, Brian Coffan, Darragh Scriven, Alex O’Sullivan, Aonghus Boland, David Andrews, Andrews O’Grady. Sub used – Patrick Murphy. Sub not used – Rory Horgan (inj).
