U13 Football V Clondrohid – 27/2

Clondrohid 1-7, Shamrocks 8-11

Shamrocks made the long trek to Clondrohid (outside Macroom) on Sunday afternoon last and made the journey worthwhile with a comfortable win. This was the first ever meeting between Clondrohid and Shamrocks at any level in either grade so history of a kind was made between the two clubs.

Due to a very poor turn out we had just the bare number of players travelling but that did not stop the lads from putting in a great performance on the day. Playing with the wind in the first half we got off to a great start and were leading by four points after a few minutes but Clondrohid made it very hard for the lads and at the break we were leading 2-04 to 1-00.

Clondrohid started the second half the stronger team but the lads got the first score and settled down after that to run out winners on a comfortable scoreline. Well done to Adam Jones who scored 4 goals on what was a great team performance generally.
