JAFC v Ballinhassig – 20/7

Shamrocks 0-12, Ballinhassig  1-7

This Junior A Football championship tie, played at Ballygarvan, was most competitive and some excellent points recorded in the opening half gave Shamrocks a sound base from which to move forward in the game. Ballinhassig put in a big push before half time to see two points between the teams Shamrocks 0-8 Ballinhassig 0-6.

The second half was a tough and demanding period with Ballinhassig bringing out the best in our backline.  Some four excellent points were well deserved and a Ballinhassig penalty goal give them sustenance.  However the lads in green had the wherewithal and the bottle not to concede any more scores before the final whistle.

Team Manager Michael Kidney was quick to acknowledge the team spirit and the will to win. Well done to al our gallant players and thanks for a thrilling championship win.
