U12 HL V Tracton – 14/6

Shamrocks 2-4, Tracton 0-5

This was the start of another 3 hurling games over the next two weeks. Tracton were doing great stuff in their games played so far.

Our lads got stuck in from the first whistle as both teams exchanged points over the opening period. A goal by full forward Josh Bartlett had us leading at half time on a scoreline of 1-03 to 0-03. Tracton had the wind with them in the second half and started to dominate the game. They scored two points to leave only the bare minimum between the teams entering the last ten minutes. Some changes were made by us and these resulted in our U10 players getting valuable game time. They done themselves and the club proud as they stormed in to it. A goal and a point was scored by our new full forward line and the final whistle soon sounded to the great delight of the large Shamrocks supporters. The final result was 2-04 to 0-05.

There is great credit due to these group of players and their parents for the time and effort that they have put in so far. Some of the players are playing three and four games a week. Thanks must also go to coach John Herlihy and selectors John Twomey and Shane O Donovan.
