We played Cobh in a challenge match in Shanbally last night. We had only one minor on show for the first half and two for the second period. The rest of the team consisted of our U16 team. This was a great exercise for the upcoming U16 and minor hurling championship games next week.
Cobh proved to be of equal quality and strength as ourselves. We played some lovely hurling and it’s evident for all involved in the club to see the influence that our U16 coach Mr. David Nolan has had on our players. The were a joy to watch. From a defence point of view the hooking, blocking, man marking and clearances were excellent. Going forward the inter changes between midfield and the forwards along with the attacking play, shooting and positional movements were excellent. The final scoreline resulted in a five point win for Cobh 3-04 to 0.-08. In fact Cobh scored 1-01 in the last two minutes. We can take many positives out of this performance and hopefully continue it on for the rest of the season.
